The Rockstar and mega rockstar difference

 We recently had the experience of being Mega Rockstars. We stayed in the Gorgeous Suite.  

This experience starts when you are treated to a VIP boarding. Virgin has a slick boarding normally but this is that extra special treatment get you on board fast and make you feel special.  

Once on board you head to my favourite bar, The Sip Lounge, where you are greeted with Moet and you meet your rockstar agent. If you are a Mega Rockstar then you can head straight to your cabin where your agent will meet you.  

We stepped off the lift on floor 15 to have a team welcome us by name.  No I didn’t have it written anywhere, they know their clients already by our pictures. 

We were taken to our cabin and shown around so that we could make the most of our facilities. The first thing was my agent booked me into the shows and the bungy class (these are limited so I wanted to not miss out). We were shown our bar and explained how it all worked. 

Rockstar has a full bar to start the cruise. This includes 5 half bottles (375 ml) of spirits, half bottles of wine and champagne, and some beers. Mixers are available as needed. You can change out some of the spirits for your favourite ones. I had bourbon added. The bar does not get restocked for free, but there really is enough for a whole cruise. 

Mega Rockstar has a full bar that is replenished twice a day or whenever we needed anything from our agent. Mega also has all drinks up to $25US each included at any bar. Plus 2 bottles of wine per day up to $90US each. 

With Mega Rockstar you really will not pay for a drink unless you buy expensive wines, and can also shout your friends a drink or two at the bar. If you want a party in your cabin (like a Rockstar), talk to your agent and they will make it all happen. 

The room has a larger than normal bed facing out to the balcony and a separate lounge and bar area. It is very spacious and very comfortable to sit and enjoy a cocktail while playing music on your record player.  

The bathroom is spacious with a seperate toilet and peeky boo window in the shower and double vanity.  

The balcony is large enough for 2 lounges, a table and chairs, hammock and outdoor shower.  

And that is in the smallest Rockstar Cabin. They only get bigger from there.

These suites include laundry and if it’s in the bag provided it just happens. 

You can communicate with your agent via the virgin app or call on your in room phone.  Nothing is too much trouble and done with a smile. We were checked on regularly and offered tips and tricks constantly.  

All Rockstars are allowed up to Richard’s Private Rooftop where you can get away from the rest of the ship to a private area of deckchairs and hot tubs, and are greeted every afternoon at 5pm for an hour of free flowing drinks.  

Unfortunately friends cannot join you on the rooftop unless they are also a rockstar.  

The thing that was a bit of fun was as a Mega Rockstar I could buy my friends a round of drinks. This  does make you feel very rockstar.  

We ended our cruise with our Rockstar agent assisting us with our bags to the gangway and a gorgeous goodbye hope to see you again. 

This was a luxurious experience and a must do. I think definitely for a special occasion like birthday or anniversary the splurge is worth it.
